New to Lawrence Brewers Guild

#1 Post by dmelsh » Tue Mar 31, 2009 10:49 pm

Hello fellow brewers.

It’s awesome that there is a brew club here in Lawrence. At least I’ll have people to talk to about it because my roommates all think I'm crazy. I guess that just means no beer for them. I have been brewing for about a month and half now. And have loved every moment of it.

I started with an Irish Red Ale and from then on have been hooked. In this short time I brewed the Irish Ale, an American Ale, and last night a Delirium Tremens clone (which is fermenting awesomely next to me as I type this.)

I already own two primary, two secondary, and waiting my kegs to be delivered Friday to put in a kegerator I already had. Thank KU for the scholarship money. LOL just to let you know I am a five year Architectural Engineer here.

I would like to thank Jeff for introducing me to Lawrence Brew Guild and hope to meet and drink a few good brews with the rest of you. And Jeff I wish I had joined this weekend to see the brewing this Sunday. Would have been great to see how everyone else brews.

Just call me Andy!

1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

Welcome to the board and to the guild!
Cheers!

Hey, want to make a good impression and help us haul some grain tomorrow? (OK, just kidding).

Welcome...

Especially since he doesn't have access to that part of the board.

Welcome, and post away with questions and ideas!

How do I pay to be a member? Is it just at the next meeting? Or can I mail it in somewhere?

LBG meets at 7pm monthly on the second Thursday of the month - April 9th, in this case - at the Unitarian Fellowship of Lawrence, south of town.

You can see directions here: http://is.gd/qi89

Annual membership is $16, and the easiest way to go is to pay at a meeting.

Welcome! Hope you come out and join us.
