I'm sure I can offer something up. You might be surprised at how many members may have meads for sampling. As for meads that can be purchased locally. Chaucer's is available. A lot of people bad mouth it, but it is a pretty good sweet mead. Pirtle has 3 offerings (sweet, blackberry, and raspberry) that are available in town as well. I know Jeff carries some or all of these. Slough Creek in Oskaloosa had an excellent mead but unfortunately they closed last year.

you guys done hijacking my thread?

I would also like to add that I'm going to try my hand at some wine this year too. Just a kit though. After seeing that Andy and Jarrell (I'm forgetting someone) had to go through, I think a kit will be just fine :D

Okay, to put this topic back on subject (aaahem!) I'll be moving my ESB off the yeast probably tomorrow which means I will have an empty fermentation chamber, which as we all know is sacrilege.

Since May is coming up quickly, I want to crank out a MaiBock probably next weekend. Anyone have any recipes they want to let me try? Yes, I've surfed the net and the green board and got some options from there, but I would rather use something from within our own club.

So post up them Maibock recipes!

Actually, do I have enough time to make a Maibock?
