Just a reminder that we're tasting Christmas/Spiced beers tonight.

So anyone who has something along those lines to include in the tasting, please bring either a six-pack or growler, and I'll include it with a couple of commercial examples I picked up.

Thanks!
Matt

I brought the Holiday Spiced Pale Ale. Most people seemed to enjoy it and some asked for the spices and/or the recipe (see below). Note that it was an extract w/ steeping grains recipe.

I received some good feedback (thanks all):
Even though it tasted good, according to the style it should have had a better balance between the malt flavor and the spices (spices were quite noticeable).
Also, I used a Pale Ale as a base for it, whereas an Amber or darker would have been a better choice for the base (more malt flavor, see above comment).

I appreciate the feedback, and I will definitely try this beer again probably using an Amber base (and also will be doing it All-Grain).

Very tasty beverage this evening. The spices were right there, but not over the top at all. Thanks for posting the recipe!
