Looking to buy bottling gear

Hey All,

I know some of you have graduated to all-kegs and now have just tons of bottling gear languishing unloved in your spider-ridden corners.... I'm looking for some things that didn't survive June tornados; racking j-tube, bottling tube w/fill-tip, Vinator bottle-sanitation system, bottle tree, etc. I have about fifteen cases of empty bottles (about half 12-ouncers) and will lack the cooling capacity for kegging. I'd love to buy eight corni-kegs, a fridge, and tapping gear for them all, but for now....

I'm making a run to Pro Shoppe and/or B&B tomorrow or Sunday; in case anyone would like for me to pick anything up, or if someone would like to ride along, please PM me.

Thanks,
--Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to the board!
I've got some bottles I can throw your way but not much else.

Well, maybe a suggestion.... if you know you will be moving to kegging at some point, keep your eyes open for good deals and pick things up in small chunks. I had 3 kegs well before I had a way to dispense beer.
I've currently got 14 kegs, a chest freezer for fermentation, a kegerator, blah blah blah, all of which I slowly accumulated over 2 year or so years.

Do the good 'ol cookie jar thing. Add $5 here, $20 there and then you got $100 for a few used kegs, a gas manifold and a CO2 tank.

This is exactly how I saved for my kegerator / system. $5 at a time over 18 months. I learned some good lessons doing that.

Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely saving up for the future keg/cooling system. I appreciate the offer for bottles, but I'm pretty well stocked now.
