Just got a call from John dean @ blind tiger and were brewing my pils for the comp at the gabf ! The pro-am is basicly a homebrew recipe that has won a medal ,then brewed w/a pro brewer in the brewery and judged at the festival. So it looks like im finally going this year , and having my beer judged. WOW! What a honor. Hope we got a few LBG'rs that will be there..........................cheers

sweet..........just dont let John change up things like other probrewers do all the time w/ homebrewers recipes to suit their needs. With that said, not much to change on a Pils.

John knows this, and i have no idea if this was the same last year in the Proam, but the judges wanted some serious bitterness in the Pils. More so than the style calls for........you might ask him about this as alot of probrewers i spoke with at the Connisuer were complaining to me about that and all of them thought the bitterness was to much. I wonder if this will effect how much bitterness you want in this years beer???

Congrats! You really think the pros are scarred of hops? I bet the majority think they won't sell beer if they use to much (as the public sees it) BMC did a TON of damage and were slowly getting into recovery mode!
