If you have any of the following malts, and don't mind bringing 2 cups worth to the meeting, it would expand what I have.
Brown Malt
Carmel Malts (any of them, I have Crystal, but I am looking to show the difference between maltsters)
Acidulated
Munich
Special B
Roast Barley
Rice Hulls
Golden Promise
Optic
I am bringing about 20 other malts with me.
Everyone should be able to get a pinch to taste and smell.
If you want to bring something, bring about 2 cups. But you might want to check here first, I might have it already.
See you Thursday!

I'm out of town right now, but I think it would be interesting to see the differences between Black malt (Black Patent, etc.) and debittered black malt (Carafa III Special, Dingemanns debittered, etc.).
The debittered really does have a non-bittering quality.

Great seminar, Sean. Thanks to all who helped by bringing grain to the meeting for people to taste. Very informative.
I really hope that the next seminar could be on recipe building, which I think would springboard nicely from this grain seminar.
Perhaps we could build a recipe or two and talk about why certain grains, hops and yeasts would be good choices or bad choices. I think this could make a lot of really good brewers even better.

Pair the recipe formulation seminar with the commercial tasting. Swap the seminar so it goes first, then taste the style for the tasting!
