I have an unopened 5# of Carafa II if you like to buy it or partial. Just purchased from Northern Brewer. I have 10# all together.

I need to weigh out some and see how much I have. I might be able to fill in the gap Chris if you dont have enough.

We brewed one a few months ago, and although the beer finished a little higher than we liked I thought the dark malts were a little too pronounced. There seems to be a fine balance to getting this style correct. I'll see if I can find the recipe and upload it.

I've been reading some recipes of this style and it seems that many don't mash the carafa, just put it on top of the mash during the sparge. One pound seems to be all that is required for most 5 gallon recipes.

A week or so ago I started a thread in the recipe section at Blues Brothers on Cascadian IpA. Good stuff there and around a half dozen recipes.

I got my carafa malt, thanks Rob! Its good to have a brewer in the neighborhood! (and thanks everyone for the other offers and advice)
Plan to brew with Ted and Nate on Thursday morning, if any of you are out and about, stop by. Making Pliney the Black!
