I need to ship 4, 5 gallon kegs that will be filled with coffee from Lawrence to Southern CA. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might go about this and what might be the "cheapest yet reliable" method to do this? Any local freight companies that anyone knows about that specializes in something like this?

You'll get better rates of you ship from and to a commercial address. You'll have to declare them as hazmat because they will be pressurized. Next I would look at packaging. You might have to put them on a pallet due to the total weight being near 170lbs. Due to hazmat charges you'll want a single package.

Tom,
Why are you shipping kegged coffee to S. California? Inquiring minds, you know?
Seems like a huge expense to ship something that is mostly water, but I guess beer is mostly water too and we don't think twice about shipping costs.
