#1 Post by ryanmetcalf » Tue Nov 05, 2019 10:30 am

Show off your turkey and ham cooking talents for the LBG Holiday Party! Six LBG members can volunteer (or groups/teams). The LBG will reimburse you for your purchase of a turkey or ham. (Keep it reasonable)
Sign up here!
Turkeys may be prepared in any way you wish. Roasted, smoked, grilled, turducken, etc. Use your creative imagination. If you sign up, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to deliver a ready-to-serve turkey/ham to the Holiday Party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

Thanks to all our past donors, if you're looking for some creative ideas, can check out a previous years thread!

If I recall, there was even a Flamin Hot Cheeto bird previously too, so many unique ways!

We're bringing one of our forest raised hams, double smoked with a sweet glaze.

Very thematic turkey idea, Beer brined!
Tipsy Turkey, by Executive Chef Sean Z. Paxton, the Homebrew Chef
https://www.craftbeer.com/recipes/tipsy-turkey

Has both oven and smoker instructions with it
The type of sugar will bring out complimentary flavors in the beer. One can use light or dark brown sugar to get more of a malty, rummy flavor, or use maple syrup to add a different twist. Molasses can be used or dark rock candi to add other dimensions to the finished bird.
If you aren't cooking for a crowd and this recipe sounds intriguing, one can half or quarter the ingredients, following the same steps and use either a chicken, Cornish game hen or chicken breasts to create a similar flavor on a smaller scale.
