VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS

HOMEBREW AND VOLUNTEER DISCUSSION

We're officially recruiting for Brewfest committee members, I encourage you to talk to your fellow members and friends to encourage them to step forward for helping with Brewfest. Michelle needs help, we need kegs, we need to sell tickets!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Great Taste of the Midwest - It was a good time had by all who attended. The rains mostly avoided us in Madison, Wisconsin.

2. 2025 Club Brewing Showdown- The Kansas City Bier Meisters are hosting this year's version of the Beer to Rule Them All Club Competition for Kansas and Missouri homebrewers. The three best British beer style beers from each homebrewing club will be entered and judged. Beers will be delivered to Transport Brewing in Shawnee, Kansas on October 25.

2. Brewfest help needed - Brewfest Logistics Committee needed: key positions are Pre-Planning, Permit Coordinator, Site Lead. Food Committee needed: Tim and Ryan are teaming up for Pre-Planning. Mike/ with help will handle site lead at the event. The Beverage & Entertainment positions are accounted for. There is a Brewfest Book available by QR code that details each position requirements and the guideline to set up and run the Brewfest. Ryan will be sharing information on social media for individual members to share. It takes 74 paid tickets to break even. Music budget has been reduced from $2200 to $1500 with a total budget for the Brewfest at $3660. Friday night meal/bottle sharing is still being planned. Deadline to sign up you keg is Aug. 29 at midnight at the Lawrence Brewers Guild Forum. We still need many more kegs, as we are only a 1/3 of the way there for keg donations! Tickets are now on sale for $50 each.

3. The reefer truck is back this year for food donations. There will be a donation QR and a bin for food donations. Any money collected above cost will be collected for Camp Dale. Camp Dale on Thursday night is on! Please provide a $20 donation to stay.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tim announced: Cider Smash at 1:30 on Saturday, Sept. 20. Contact Tim for information, the event is being held through Johnson County Brewers Society. You can see the processes of an apple orchard, and get your own apples for cider. Also, Rally in the Alley on Saturday, Oct. 18. This event is sponsored by the American Legion and Missouri Mashers in Parkville, MO. You are welcome to bring a half of a pony keg or more to serve at the event, or by a ticket for $35 ($45 day of) for this homebrew fest. Contact Tim for more info.

Also, Bo's Hog Wild Charity event is happening Labor Day Weekend! If you know Bo, he is looking for people to serve homebrew.

SEMINAR

TASTING

Caleb Percevecz was online with the group for the tasting. He is the Manager at the Lone Girl Taproom in Madison, Wisconsin. Lone Girl is a brewery in Wisconsin, and Caleb talked about their history, their satellite taproom, and the brewery's vision. Caleb graciously donated many cans of beer for this tasting while LBG members were in Madison, Wisconsin. Samples included:

Yes, Please!, an American IPA
Summer Lovin, a Wheat Beet with Mango
2 Trainz, an Imperial IPA
Love Train, an American IPA
