I see that there has been many views, but no calls. Do I need to throw in a few growlers worth of beer in on this?

The price is right, that's just a (bucket load) of Starsan. It's taken me two years and I'm not done with the single gallon I purchased, although I'm getting close. You have to be somewhat careful of what you transfer Starsan into. I've heard of it eating through the standard milk container. The gallon jug it comes in is a thicker than those.

If anyone wants to split this, I would be willing to go in on purchasing it. I would only want one gallon.

Yeah, a few weeks earlier, and you'd've sold that. I just bought one of four gallons on the last bulk buy. Rob would have been the fifth gallon. Unfortunately, I don't see needing another gallon for a couple of years.

On the last grain buy, 1 gal jugs of Starsan came to $33.06. This includes pro-rated shipping and the $15 hazmat fee.

The largest container Northern Brewer sells is 32 oz (1/4 gallon). It's $15.50 plus $7.99 flat shipping.

$100 for a 5 gallon pail is a solid price if anyone wants to help me split it up. Anybody want to split this with me?

I may be interested....

What are you going to keep it in?

You would need to supply your own container. If you previously bought a Starsan gallon, that jug would be best. I think a glass gallon jug would be next. Milk gallon jugs are NOT recommended. I've read where Starsan has eaten through that thinner plastic. If there are 5 people, one person could keep the left over 5-gallon container. If less than 5 people buy it, I'm willing to buy the whole thing so I would need to keep the 5-gallon pail because there would be 2, 3 gallons left.

Sounds like this is getting close on a few people going in on it. Also, in the past I have stored it in an old gallon glass apple juice jug and did fine.

When it is finalized, give me a call.

Thanks,

Rob I got my gallon over a year ago and have kept it in a one gallon plastic cider vinegar jug thebottom of jug says HDPE my understanding and the past year of exsperance is that that works fine for storage of starsan if that helps Jack!

Yeah, my gallon of StarSan that I bought about two days before this was posted is in a type "2" recyclable plastic jug and has HDPE on the bottom right next to the triangle with the "2" in it. Some more info for y'all.

Buy a glass gallon of cheap Carlo Rossi burgundy-- make some sangria; or get a IWIG half gallon returnable milk bottle-- drink the milk; or get a glass gallon of Louisberg cider, and I don't know-- maybe through some yeast in there.... Glass baby, Glass!!!
