Converting cooler into mash tun with copper manifold

#1 Post by Jdl973 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 7:45 pm

Converting cooler into a mash tun with a copper manifold

This build was based on "How To Brew"; Palmer, John J; 2006; Appendix E, pp 287-295.

This was the very first built I did and brewed my first beer in this.

If I said "gee, wish someone would make a molecular transporter", would you take that as a challenge and make one?

You are one DIY mofo Jason. Keep it up.
Thanks!

Id be interested if you will get an occasional air lock in that woopty doop.....With that said, i will die by the sword of copper manifolds. I get 85-90% eff. with mine.
Just call me Andy!

1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
4. When a "Double IPA" just is not enough

Andy I though of that, but with the shape and space in the cooler, there just was not room for a hookup below the manifold.

Bill, I just like working with my hands.
