Dang.....even Drew cant find any freakin bottles. But what he did say is we need to look for bottles with these specs.....
http://www.calglass-pcc.com/catalog/win ... _page1.htm
Jarrell suggested calling HolyField or other local wineries and see where they get their wine bottles. They may have a lead!
Edit: Drew says calglass most likely supplies most places, but only sells to businesses.....im sure we can work out a deal w/somebody.....

What about Ale & Vino doing an order w/ them? I'll be by A&V today, I'll stop by after 4 and see if Doug has a lead for these bottles.Blktre wrote:Edit: Drew says calglass most likely supplies most places, but only sells to businesses.....im sure we can work out a deal w/somebody.....
I'll post back...
Thanks!

I spent about 2hrs on the net this morning...Damn near impossible to find new. I found someplace with them but you gotta by a 40K cubic foot shipping container of them
$18 is probably without the cost of shipping...maybe will find someone with free shipping or get a break on the volume. I personally would suggest that the second round group form and buy at the same time.

I talked with Doug at A&V and he said he could get 12 750ml Green (he's checking on if it has a punt) bottles, that accepts both crown caps and corks/cages for $18 and 60 corks/cages for $10.80.
So if we get 5 cases (60 bottles) and the corks/cages it will run us $100.
If we go this route, let me know and I'll get w/ Doug. I figure if we can get the same deal online, may as well buy locally.

Agreed so long as they are the bottles we need.Matt wrote:I'm all for saving money on shipping and supporting our local brewshops at the same time.

Me too, but if they dont come from Calglass, they will most likely be the wrong bottles. The web is full of green bottles w/ punts that accept crown caps and are the the wrong bottle ( thin glass)......ill be anxiously waiting...but dont order until we see a CAD design of the bottle...Greenblood wrote:Agreed so long as they are the bottles we need.Matt wrote:I'm all for saving money on shipping and supporting our local brewshops at the same time.

Bill,
Update on the bottles thru AV?? If that doesent work right, then Jensen has graciously offered opening an account with Calglass. I think we need to get extra bottles. There could be some breakage, etc.
Jarrell has designed the riddling rack. Its awsome and will be relativly simple to build. Each rack can hold 50 bottles which makes it possible to riddle all the bottles at the same time for consistnecy. So, im looking at a time line here.
1st we need to make sure we have the source for bottles and get them ordered.
2nd the riddling rack will have to be built by the end of fermentation.
3rd, i have the yeast and getting ready to prop it. Im gonna do a small batch first so the yeast will be ready within a month. So.....id like to hear from AV on the bottles. Everything hinges on glass..........

I'll stop by today after work (Doug's only there after 4pm M-F) and see if Doug's got an update and if not, I'll tell him we are going to take a different route.Blktre wrote:Bill,

Thanks Bill for asking, and tell Doug thanks as well......well try the other way...Bill wrote:I spoke with Doug and he says he's not 100% on the bottles.
We should go w/ Jensen's idea.
