Whole Hops Sale

#1 Post by rushrich » Mon Jun 21, 2010 9:42 am

Not sure if many people buy hops from them or would be interested, but I figured that I would post this anyway. Maybe someone will save a little money.

Half Off All Whole Hops at Williams Brewing Until July 2nd!

they are flushing out their 2009 leaf hops. Not a bad deal for people that don't need/want a full pound of hops.

Domestic:
Fuggle, Palisade and Sterling

Imported:
Czech Saaz and German Spalt

edit** changed the year to 2009. guess I don't know what year it is :(

That is what I thought too, but (unless they are blatantly lying) it says that they are the 2009 crop (most recent crop).

This is what Bill meant, most recent being last years crop.

Doesn't matter, but wouldn't 2008 be the crop from 2 years ago instead of most recent crop.

Semantics, I know, but I don't know if I would want hops from 2008's harvest. . . . . .

Yes, Bill meant to say 2009. I've used two year old hops, properly stored they hold up pretty well. Just adjust AA before using em.

Has anyone bought hops from Williams in the last 5 years? Last time I bought from them, over 5 years ago, I got the most yellow hops I've ever seen. When I called customer service, the lady told me that all of their hops look that way and that was what they were supposed to look like. Haven't bought from them again.

They may have improved their quality since then, but I was convinced to not try again.

Seems a bit high to me for last years model.

6 oz 4.95 = 14.85 /lb
6 oz 5.45 = 16.35/lb

I have had great luck with Hops Direct

http://www.hopsdirect.com/hops/leafhops.html

Their stuff is about $12-16 lb (most domestics are 9-12/lb) and the hops are in great condition. Shipping is very reasonable.

Just my $0.02
