Trying Beers

#1 Post by klickcue » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:10 pm

I like to spring new beers on my stepson and Son, both like good beers and drink microbrews.

Last night, it was my stepson who was over.

Want a beer? -- Sure.

Delivered the first pint and he asked what it was. I told him to tell me. I watched as he smelled it and took a drink. He rolled his eyes and quivered his head like he was cold to the bone. He liked it but didn't know what it was but knew it was sour. A Berliner Weiss.

The next pint. What do you think and what is it? His answer was I don't know but it is Liquid Love

It is a Brown Ale. His reply was, it is not a Brown Ale because I have had Brown Ale and they do not taste like this, so what is it? My reply was it is a Brown Ale but it is bugged.

It started out as my standard Brown Ale, which is very tasty, but changed the yeast schedule. Normally, I would pitch Chico or PacMan and finish the beer. This time, it started with PacMan for 7 days, next was WLP510 at 7 day and then 14 days later pitched Brett B, Brett C, Lacto - 1 pint liquid each. Kegged the beer and one month later carbed and started drinking.

The point of this is, experiment with your different yeasts. 8)
Have Fun!

Chris
