Ok LBG let me introduce you to what seems to be our first community project. What we are doing is creating a "promotional video"; something to let new/prospective members know what we are about. What I need is photos, video, graphics, ideas for music (has to be something royalty free)...ect. This includes anything from meetings, club events(brewfest, Pints 4 Pets, Muggs), big brew days, your own brew sculpture/rig, metals/awards won, or anything else home brewing related. There are a couple ways to get me the media, you can post a link here if it's something I can download the best quality from or let me know you have something in a PM and I'll send you my email address. I anticipate this project taking a while so don't think it's to late to submit some media.
This video is aimed at recruitment, the more people we have to pay dues the more we can do.

Re: LBG Community Project.
I am getting some ideas down for the video, and I sent out some PMs. If you didn't get one but still have something to donate let me know. If you did don't rush on getting me stuff, like I said I want to take some time I do this well.

Re: LBG Community Project.
This is not a Community Project. A Community Project is a project to benefit the community. This is a project to benefit LBG.
Labels aside, it's a fine idea! I'd be willing to contribute and participate. I can do video production if you need help. I even have a degree (a double major, this one was for fun). I captured some HD video at Brewfest you can use, if you like.
I hope that you plan on using a scripted voice-over, and not some extemporaneous babble. I have some ideas you might consider.
What kind of editing software do you use?
Your logo opening is very cool, and I can help you polish it up. The logo needs a 3D effect to give it more character. Why pay for a background? I love the audio, but how hard can it be to macro a beer pouring?
Nothing will convince prospective members like testimonials. Willing members might testify what LBG has meant to them, and how it has helped them improve the quality of their beer consumption. Script up a pile of relevant questions you can ask, and you can pick out the gems for production. I can supply lapel mics and digital sound recorder, and even a camera if necessary.
I also have a collection of royalty free background music that is intended for this sort of thing. There's also the audio from the Brewfest band videos.
Let me know how I can help.

Re: LBG Community Project.
I consider the LBG a community.
Phoenix your level of expertise and knowledge continues to amaze me. I am kind of intimidated by it. Currently everything I have done has been at no cost; used open source freeware graphics tools for the Logo, a trial version of Sony Vegas 11 for the video and I have had the camera for years. That's why the quality of the October tasting isn't the best, aside of the inherent lighting issues with our meeting space I have a direct to DVD camera that's like 8 years old. For the video editing I am teaching myself on Sony Vegas 11 because it was recommended to me and I was able to get a trial version free. I was not planning on doing any voice over or recorded interviews in this initial video, mainly using short clips, and photos with with some overlay text and music in the background. I wanted to start pretty basic and created new versions as I learned more. I have some royalty free music as well, and I asked one of our music loving members if he could come up with something one of our local Lawrence musicians might provide royalty free also.

Re: LBG Community Project.
I use Sony Vegas too. I'll give you a DVD tutorial. The quality of the tasting video is fine, although you could zoom in a little tighter. The problem is the audio. Too many clowns having their own conversations and not paying attention. If you have an audio input jack on your camera, I have a wireless mic that you can use.

Re: LBG Community Project.
I have thought about the lapel mic, I have an older blue tooth mic that the receiver clips on the accessory shoe. The stage is also wired with spot mics for sound, with a board that a recorder could be attached to. I would defiantly like to have a look at the Vegas tutorial. It was actually on sale for a couple hours on Amazon the other day (Platinum HD 11 Suite) for $60, but I missed it.

Maybe we should amplify those rude ass-clowns for a couple of sessions... Then maybe they would get the clue to shut the hell up and listen. Plenty of time for chatter babble during social hour. Thanks for all of your efforts guys-- bringing the LBG strong.
