Anyone Going to St. Louis?

I don't know if these brews will make it to our area, but they sound fantastic.

St. Louis, MO-November 21, 2006--Schlafly Beer proudly announces the release of the inaugural beer styles in our new Schlafly Reserve Series. Each beer has been aged in oak and packaged in 750 ml silk-screened bottles with a decorative box. Quantities of these vintage-dated beer styles are limited and availability will begin in late November. These specialty beers will be available at your local retailer, the Schlafly Tap Room and Schlafly Bottleworks.

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout-10.6% ABV
Around the time of the Louisiana Purchase, beer was shipped in barrels. If one had been lucky enough to receive a used Bourbon barrel full of Imperial Stout, this is what his or her happy taste buds would have encountered: roasty, rich, malty Imperial Stout with a strong dose of caramel, oak, and Bourbon character.

This is a perfect beer to pair with hearty, cold-weather dishes, smoked meats, and virtually any dessert (especially chocolate).

Oak-Aged Barleywine-10.2% ABV
This limited release beer is aged on new Missouri oak. The wood has a medium toast, which helps to caramelize the sugars in the oak and adds a nutty character to the beer as it soaks into the wood.

You'll impress everyone when you serve this with grilled meats and game, roasted vegetables, or any fried food. Leave the corkscrew in the kitchen drawer and pop open a beer that will reward you with more flavors than most wines can dream of.

Cool. I'm heading to St. Louis in a few weeks, I'll see about picking up a few bottles.

I'd love to get a bottle of one or both, let me know if you have room.

The Lukas on 135th and State Line has the Imperial Stout. Bomber bottle in a gift box for $8.95. They also have a nice selection of the bigger Bell's beers (Expedition, Cherry Stout, and Third Coast Old Ale). Worth stopping by if you are in the area.
