Can I sit on things or WHAT!?!
Cleaning up the basement this past week & I discovered a whole case (24-12oz. bottles) of both the original batch you guys tasted:
(The Carta Blanca bottles were a straight mead bottled in May of 1995. 1.5 gal. water, 10lbs. honey, 4 tsp. acid blend, 2 tsp. yeast nutrients, 1/2 tsp Irish Moss, 2 pkgs. Red Star Champagne yeast, 4.5 gal. batch, 75 drop in gravity for 9.6%)
and another batch from '95 as well, a melomel with Jamaican Allspice & raspberry (1 gal. water, 15lbs. honey, 4tsp. acid blend, 3 tbsp. yeast nutrients, 1 tbsp. Irish moss, 1/2oz. Jamaican Allspice, 4oz. raspberry wine flavoring, 10g Lalvin & 10g Champagne yeast for 5gal. batch, 110 drop in gravity for 14.2%) that I don't think you guys tasted.
When's the next mead tasting(s)??
