Hop harvest begins

#1 Post by Pissytiffy » Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:46 pm

We started the harvest last night and picked 24oz. of cones from three cascade vines. The vines are still setting on new cones so we will continue to nurture them in hopes for a few more ounces. This is our first year so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Is this a typical first year harvest? What about future years; can I expect a greater harvest next year?

Hey Xan,
From what I've read the first years yield is the weakest and it should only get better.
