October and November Tasting Announcement

#1 Post by Matt » Wed Oct 08, 2008 2:59 pm

TASTING NOTICE:

Tasting for the October Meeting will be Octoberfests.

The Brewing and Tasting calendar is complete and will be posted tonight and brought to the meeting.

It will have both ale and lager brewing suggestions for each month, and I'm going to ask for anyone who uses the calendar and brews the monthly style to donate some for tastings so we can get more home brewed taste comparisons with the commercial offerings.

November's Tasting will be Cider, so if you'd like to make some, please let me know. I'm hoping to score some apples soon. Let's get a pressing together!

I want to apologize to everyone for missing the meeting last night. I had intended to have a great Oktoberfest tasting, but instead I was called away to attend the funeral of a friend, and afterward I just wasn't up to it.

So, I'm working hard to make it up to you all next month. Anyone who's making cider, please let me know. A big thanks to Jack for pledging some cider for tasting. I'm looking forward to it.

I made apfelwein 6/24/08. It's carbonated and has been cold conditioning for almost 3 months.

How much do I need to bring, 1 growler, or 2?

Ken

General suggestion is to bring a six pack of 12 ounce bottles or one full growler, but more is always better, especially if you're proud of it. :)
