Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout Brew - We've Been Mentioned

#1 Post by BourbonDrinker » Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:07 am

Thought you guys would appreciate this:

WhiskyCast, the world's most popular Whisk(e)y podcast has mentioned our Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout brew in the episode that came out today.

Check it out.

I've been drinking the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout (also mentioned in this episode) for a few weeks now and it's really great stuff.

The Goose Island brew master has some interesting ideas about how best to extract the beer from the barrel. He talks about refrigerating the barrel before emptying it to 'sweating' the beer out of the wood---this is where the best flavor lies, he says. Give it a listen.

.

Very interesting listen, Thanks!

...great, yet another podcast that I have to listen to regularly now. Why do I even have cable TV anyway?

Nice. Ive always thought that we should get some exposure on our barrel brewing. Our club has alot of experience to share. We've been doing it for so long. And besides that, barrel brewing is just freaking cool.
Thanks Dev for sharing.

1. When a once extraordinarily hoppy beer now seems pedestrian.
2. The phenomenon a person has when craving more bitterness in beer.
3. The long-term exposure to extremely hoppy beers; if excessive or prolonged, a habitual dependence on hops will occur.
