Beer Smith - 2008 Styles

#1 Post by klickcue » Tue Mar 24, 2009 6:43 pm

Something to watch out for if using Beer Smith. It got me, but I knew it was wrong.

Beer Smith has several styles to choose from in it Style.bsm
FAD0L 2007
BJCP 1999
BJCP 2004
BJcp 2008

Your can get to the styles for your recipe through Tools>Options

The default for a New Recipe is Altbier 5D -- Which is FAD0L 2007 which does not follow the BJCP guide lines. If brewing an Altbier make sure to Choose Northern German Altbier or Dusseldorf Altbier.

Of course, me being the lazy person that I am would choose the default and wonders what is wrong :drunken:
Have Fun!

Well, it is quite apparent how lazy you are Mr Klindt.

I'm still torn between my not yet paid for ProMash and switching to Beer Smith. Well, not really torn, just, well, lazy :blackeye:
Thanks!

I have registered copies of both Promash and Beer Smith. Both are excellent programs but I like the interface of Beer Smith better with the Explorer interface with drag and drop.

Beer Smith is supposed to release version 1.5 before long.

Enjoy either one :D
Have Fun!
