The Treasured Chests just left at 7:45am headed for the 3day in Denver. Six women and enough stuff for one week in one car. That was a sight to see. The car was all dressed up in 3day and Pirate apparel. Toe nails painted with Breast Cancer pink ribbons or Skull and Crossbones.
They are planning a day in Estes for a short hike to some lake before reporting in Fri. at 5:30am for Opening Ceremonies and the first 20 miles of 60. They are Starting in Golden, walking through Littleton, Englewood, then ending outside of Denver by late Sun. afternoon for foot massages and Closing Ceremonies. Here's a map of the route with some of the stuff they will walk through...

We just wanted to say thanks for supporting Kim at Mugs for Juggs once again this year. These girls have trained close to 1000miles getting ready for this. And now its time to start their journey. I will keep you updated here on how their week is going. It will defiantly be an emotional experience for sure.....

The house of a team member family is where they are staying in Longmont. She is in awe of this place. Has a elevator in the house and the room they are staying in is outfitted with their own fridge which the hosts fully loaded for them as a welcoming. They woke up Wed. am with coffee on the deck overlooking a waterfall and the mountains. I'm soooo jealous...

Re: Aaaaaand Their Off.......
Day 1 went well. Not as many walkers as other cities they walked in. Around 750. KC stopped because they would draw 12-1400 walkers, so who knows. It is Denver's first year.
Unfortunately two teammates fell out and had to be swept to medical. It was 95*, no shade or breeze. They trained in heat all summer, but dehydration and maybe elevation got them. What a drag. All the time, commitment, and emotions to be there and this happened. Hopefully they will get in the last 20 and have that special experience of crossing the finish line.
Morning of Day 2 I got a nice text pic of pink tents and in the background mountains and morning sky. They camped right across from Columbine School. So they walked over there and found a real nice memorial in memory of that tragedy.
One more day and 20 miles left. So far so good.

Thanks for the updates, Andy!
Re: Aaaaaand Their Off.......
Day 3 is over and the entire team was able to walk the final 20. The weather really cooled off as compared to Fri. so this helped. Kim said she has never felt this good after a 3day ever. Tired, but not sore etc.
Closing ceremonies consisted of all the walkers forming a double line and all the cancer survivors walk thru the line towards the stage. Then the survivors congregate together. All the walkers then surround or encompass the survivors. All the walkers then hold up there walking shoes into the air while the MC speaks of determination and what it takes to beat the disease.
Thanks again LBG for all your support to help make this 3day fundraiser happen. And we will do it again next year!!

Re: Aaaaaand Their Off.......
Thank Kim and the team for a great effort. The fund raiser at your place was an enjoyable affair and LBG did a fine job with their beers.
Have Fun!
