hop scale

#1 Post by Jensen » Wed Oct 03, 2007 12:35 am

Has anyone found a digital scale good for weighing hops? I have a grain scale already, I am looking for one that is good and accurate for weighing in the sub one pound range.

I picked up a gram scale at Bed Bath and Beyond. Yes, Bed, Bath and Beyond.
They had it in the "I'm so f'n skinny I need to weigh my food" section. It is a Salter brand and weighs 1 gram or 1/8 oz increments and was only around $30. Cheapest I could find, most others were in the $50 to $60 range with the same or less "features".

I thought maybe I could use hops as an excuse to have a triple-beam around the house ;)
Thanks!

Nah, there were other guys there, and at least 2 of them looked more like a stalker than I did, so I was fine.

And besides, it was in Topeka, some of the women here look more butch than I do.
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip Bill. I'll stop by there, well actually the t town scares me-- I'll go to the one here in Lawrence. I actually have used a triple beam for the last 18 years, but getting it set up on brew day lost it's charm about five years ago. I think I am ready for the ease and quickness of digital!
