Bulk Buy of Blue 30 & 38 gallon barrels

#1 Post by Jdl973 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:34 pm

Talking with a guy in FL about a bulk buy of 30 and 38 gallon barrels

30 Gallon

38 Gallon

These are food grade used once for food items. each barrel will be about $15. We are trying to work out shipping, to get them on a pallet and get he cost down. I hope to hit about $25-30 each. Is anyone interested? If so...how many are we talking about. I would love to have 3-5 myself.

As soon as I get a shipping figure per lot I will post it.

Ok, just talked to the guy.

The barrel with the handles is a 35 gallon. The other is a 35-40 gallon. I vote for the one with handles.

These were one use food grade barrels which only had FOOD in them.

The issue now is shipping. We can fit about 18 on a pallet. does anyone know of a trucking/shipping company that will handle partial loads? The guy is looking into it on his end. If we do order, Devin, can we use your dock?

The more we order, the chapter it is. THESE ARE BALL PARK PRICES. This all depends on the number ordred and shipping cost.

1 barrel with lid and lock ring= $15
Shipping = $8-15

Total = $23-30 delivered

Any takers?

From the pictures it looks like the 38 g barrels will nest, for easier storage when empty. I think I may have use for more barrels down the line. Though the handles might be nice, I'd prefer the larger capacity and smaller profile for storage. I would be interested in 4 of the 38's.

These could also be made into rain barrels. Lots of other ideas as well I'm sure. I'd take a couple.

WARNING: HIGH JACKED THREAD!

Would be interested in a corny keg or two if this same vendor had a pallet we would want to ship with the barrels.

Got the word from my brew partner...we would be interested in 1 or 2 of the blues, either size, but I like the handles.

Evidently Coke and Pepsi bottlers have plastic buckets that syrup comes in, I think in a 15ish and 45ish gallon sizes. I dont know any details of these buckets or availability, but if anyone knows someone with one of the soda bottles, it might be worth it...

Yea, it is dead (unfortunately)

I was trying to work out a deal with a dude in Florida, but things started to smell "fishy". Not 100% sure they only had "food grade" stuff in them and he did not have a dock to load pallets...and...and...the list just started to grow, so I bailed.

If anyone has a hookup, I would be in for 2-3 of them.
