SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER
OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Discussion was made amongst the members regarding the level of funds available for the upcoming brewfest. Suggestions were given on how to increase ticket sales such as members working harder to bring in more people to purchase tickets from friend groups, other beer clubs, etc. Also, discussion was made on how to completely fund the event if there are not enough ticket sales. Things mentioned included using some funds from savings, and reducing the planned budget for amenities for this and future brewfest. Ticket sales have been down since 2020.
In particular, Jenalea wanted it placed on record that the Club's savings account was created 10 years ago for emergencies, and that is when the budget was setup for the Club.
SEMINAR
Beer Evaluation - With Mike and Steph Butler from the KC Bier Meisters. They have over 10 years of brewing experience, and Steph is the current president of the KC Bier Meisters. They explained judging, styles and provided a tasting experience to understand the techniques and guidelines when judging.
TASTING
Members were given the same ingredients to brew Czech-style Pilsners. They all were produced using various brewing styles, using various equipment, with different lagering techniques.
