Officer Nominations for 2008

#1 Post by cyburai » Mon Dec 17, 2007 2:08 pm

It's that time of year again.

Don't we vote for officers in January?

Joe and I are at term limit. John, Bill and Dale are can still do another year. (I think).

Anyhow, just to get the discussion going.

Is this going to be a blind vote where everyone votes for who they want, or are some people actually going to be throwing their hat in the ring?

My hat is still in the ring from when Sean threw it in there last year, so I'll leave it there for Secretary.

anyone else going to bid for a position?
Thanks!

I am willing to act as Vice for another year unless someone else would like to have a go. I am a little concerned about how quiet it has been around here. Is anybody planning to make a nomination, or step up and nominate themselves? A year without a president or a treasurer could prove to be frustrating/challenging/annoying.
Cheers!

I think Chuck Ferguson would be a great choice for president. He has been involved and very active in the LBG for years. His profession has put him in front of people giving seminars for years, a good skill to have-- and besides, he is retired. The poor man needs a purpose in life!

I nominate Chuck Ferguson!!!!!!!

I prefer to not to be Biermeister for a second term.

That is disappointing. Tastings this year were excellent, and well organized. Not trying to make you feel bad, but you should know that you did an excellent job this past year, and I for one would welcome having you for another year..
Cheers!

+1 for Chuck.
Chuck? Any response?

Maybe we should push this back a month or two and rethink the time of year we are voting for our officers. Around the holidays is a hectic time for everyone, not to mention the fact we haven't had a meeting to discuss this in-depth.

I would like to see at least one meeting before we do some voting.
Anyone second?

::EDIT::
I think one meeting would allow us to get the people that don't use the boards, or at least get the word out a bit more.
Thanks!

Good idea....since theres no Dec. meeting and having the officer nominations on the Jan. agenda for a Feb. vote isn't a bad idea....

Treasurer nomination

#10 Post by Joe Yoder » Mon Jan 07, 2008 2:44 pm

I would like to nominate Xan for treasurer. She did an excellent job at the door at brewfest. I am sure that she would be responsible and effective as the club treasurer.

... and I just found out I won't be able to make this months meeting. Another reason why I want to have the vote pushed back :)

Sorry I can't make it :|
Thanks!

I think that this forum is a perfect venue for nominating Chuck. After all, he always boasts of his superb computer skills, so you know he's keeping quiet because he is just loving all the attention he is getting on the forum.
